Lego Batman’s Denuvo DRM Cracked on Day 1

Suggested Pre-read: We briefly discussed Denuvo’s ongoing troubles with the hypervisor bypass in this previous post.

I remember reading about Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight adding Denuvo DRM just weeks before its launch. The much-hyped game was finally released on May 22, 2026, and within 24 hours, it was cracked by voices38 (an anonymous yet prominent member of the pirate community). And this is not just the hypervisor bypass. This is a full-blown crack released on Day 1.

It seems Denuvo cannot catch a break.

To make matters worse for Denuvo: voices38 also cracked Mafia: The Old Country that same day. See snapshots below:

Despite these recent failures, publishers continue to implement Denuvo in upcoming titles, often at the eleventh hour—just as they did with Lego Batman. A similar situation is unfolding with 007 First Light, which launches on May 27. Because the DRM was added just a week before release, it has kickstarted an unofficial countdown to see how long the game can survive uncracked after launch. The anticipation is certainly building.

Compounding Denuvo’s piracy issues is the ongoing backlash regarding performance drops and mandatory kernel-level permissions. Frustrated gamers are actively claiming refunds, sparking heated debates across Steam Community threads. However, some users have pointed out a clear double standard, noting that players who happily grant deep system access to enable the hypervisor bypass are often the ones complaining the loudest about Denuvo’s permission requirements.
