Get insights into your AI search visibility
Google launched Generative AI performance reports in Google Search Console in early June 2026. This feature was initially rolled out to a subset of sites for testing and feedback.
Google has since been expanding the feature, and I now see it enabled for a few of my own websites. Below is a snapshot of the new Generative AI report from one of my Search Console accounts. It is a fantastic feature that I plan to incorporate into my SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) strategies, as it offers clear insights into how content appears in AI-driven experiences.
So, what exactly is the Generative AI report? And should you care about it?
The Generative AI report under the Performance section is designed to provide a dedicated view of your content’s performance across Google’s AI-powered search offerings—specifically AI Overviews and AI Mode. It also extends to generative features in Google Discover, though I haven’t seen that populate on my properties just yet.
